Import Users
Multiple User Accounts can be generated by importing an ASCII TAB Delimited text file or by tying in a list of users . (more...)
Tips:
There is no limit to the number is users you can
import. For importing users all you need is a ascii text based file (can be
created in notepad for instance) our import wizzard provides a sample for the
file format. Here is a sample
jane doe
john doe 12345
bill smith bsmith
This is an example of a tab delimited file. Either
two or three fields can be entered. You place a tab space between each field.
If you enter two fileds mysaNiTy will create the
user name based on the first initial of the first name and add second name.
Entering ron fagan gives username=rfagan if rfagan exists mysaNiTy
generates rfagan1 .
If you enter three fields, the third field will
become the username. If any imported username exists, mysaNiTy will not
generate that account and at the end of the import process a list will appear
showing you the accounts that could not be generated. You can readd them and
let mysaNiTy choose useranames fro them.
We recommend you set up your
groups in mysaNiTy by graduation year ( ex: grad2003 ) this way at the end of
the year all you have to do is delete the group. Goto Accoutn Management ->
Add groups before you start to add your users and set your groups before you
begin. If you have other questions we can usually get back to you within an
hour.
