ELIMINATE Software,
Security, and printing issues using mysaNiTy PLUS for
regular roaming users on XP and 2000 Professional Workstations. By easily
applying the FULL mysaNiTy PLUS security selections for XP,
2000 and NT local workstations at the push of a button and adding the "Domain Users"
group to the Local Administrators Group on each 2000/XP Professional
workstation, regular users will see any software and printing related issues
eliminated immediately. MysaNiTy's 2000/XP Professional security will lock
regular users out of everything on the local XP/2000 Professional
workstations. As members of
the local administrators group on a 2000/XP pro machine, regular domain users
DO NOT have
any administrator privileges at the domain level but will see any issues
related to software use eliminated. MysaNiTy's excellent XP and 2000
Professional security selections coupled with this procedure eliminates needless
time spent resolving XP/2000 Professional software and security issues for
regular domain users. This can be applied to any of the three mysaNiTy user
profile options described below.
USER
PROFILE OPTIONS: MysaNiTy provides three excellent
selectable and changeable user profile options for your users roaming to Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional workstations
shown below.
These options allow for managing new Windows 2003, XP, 2000 and NT users
efficiently and eliminate various software and workstation issues for regular
users. The above procedure
A) Workstation Default: Users use workstation default profile.
1. No profile copied to and from server during
logout and login reducing network
traffic and increasing login and logout time..
2. Saves server disk space. No roaming profile growing in size over time.
3. Users get same settings from the workstation default profile each logon.
4. Administrator Profile creation not required.
5. Eliminate various software and workstation issues for regular users by
completing the following.
- If using this profile option and you wish to
use mysaNiTy's PLUS's security selections on XP,
2000 and NT local workstations ,you will need to add the "Domain Users"
group to the Local Administrators Group on each 2000/XP Professional
workstation as described above. Apply the full mysaNiTy PLUS 2000/XP Professional security and lock
regular users out of everything on the local machine. Even as a member of
the local administrators group on a 2000/XP pro machine, users DO NOT have
any administrator privileges at the domain level. This scenario provides the
fastest login and logouts , and eliminates general user XP/2000 Professional
software issues at the client workstation.
B) Mandatory Profile: Users use same profile file.
1. All Users use same profile each logon and
get same settings every logon.
2. Users changes NOT saved and copied back to server during logout.
3. Saves server disk space. No profile in home folder growing in size over
time.
MysaNiTy help easily describes how to create a
mandatory profile so that regular users during logon will have the mysaNiTy PLUS
security settings applied.
C) Roaming Profile: Users profile file stored in the home folder.
1. All Users use their own profile during each
logon and get any changes they
have made applied every logon.
2. Users changes saved and copied back to server during logout.
3. Note: Server disk space may become slowly used up by growing profile over
time.
4. Note: Reduced login/logout time due to growing profiles copied both to and
and from server during login and logout.
