ADDONS.TXT Script Examples
Introduction MysaNiTy Version 2.0+ comes with an extra script file called addons.txt which is located in the netlogon folder (see below) of the server. The main script file called user.txt brings down the addons.txt file at the very end of the main logon script. Network administrators get the full advantage of all MysaNiTy options and scripting plus network administrators can also now add their own scripting preferences to meet individual network needs. Since this addons.txt script is at the end of the main logon script, individual scripting in addons.txt will NOT be overridden by MysaNiTy. ADDONS.TXT scripting overrides MysaNiTy scripting where
applicable since it is the last script to be executed.. Visit http://kixtart.org Web Site and bulletin board for lots of scripting examples.
Script Editing
Notes File Location: (system root is assumed to be c:\winnt) Windows NT Server 4.0: c:\winnt\system32\repl\import\scripts\addons.txt Windows 2000 Server: c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\domainname.com\scripts\addons.txt Notepad: Word wrap under edit must be unchecked to minimize script errors. All script lines in regardless of length must not wrap in notepad or logon script errors will occur. Exit: Make sure that there is an exit at the end of the addons.txt file. Script Errors: During logon if a redline appears for a very short time and possibly a beep occurs this indicates that there is a syntax error in your addons.txt script. This appears and disappears very fast and you must observe your logon very closely to make sure that you have NOT introduced an error in your script. If you introduce a script error in addons.txt some or all of the scripts may not be applied after logon. Script errors can also occur where variables are declared. These errors may not produce a visible redline error during logon. It is recommended that you back up you addons.txt file before editing incase an error is introduced giving you the option to restore the old one if no time id\s available to trouble shoot your new additions. Note: Do Not edit any of the other MysaNiTy scripts. Making changes in MysaNiTy in some cases rewrites some of the MysaNiTy generated scripts and you will lose you additions. Only modify the addons.txt file. |
