Installing Kixtart® Service on a Backup Domain Controller

 If you have a Backup domain controller (BDC) or mysaNiTy (Version 2.0+) installed on a BDC then you will need to install and start the Kixtart RPC service on ALL other servers in the domain. Reverse the steps below if mysaNiTy is installed on a BDC to install the RPC service to the Primary Domain controller(PDC).

1.    Copy the file  kxrpc.exe from c:\mysaNiTy\kwin9x  to the BDC  c:\winnt  folder

2.    Go to command prompt and change to  c:\winnt  

3.    Install the service.  Type kxprc –install. This will install the Kixtart Rpc service on the      BDC.

4.    Start the service. Type net start kxrpc.
