Each mysaNiTy user account runs the
logon script crscript.bat which then launches the kixtart executable on
the workstation which loads and runs the main logon script user.txt located in the netlogon
folder of the server on the local workstation.
(crscript.bat contents:
c:\kix\kix32 \\servername\netlogon\user.txt) MysaNiTy generates
and maintains multiple Kixtart ® logon scripts. It generates security profiles,
drive and printer mappings, desktop and start menu folders, Internet
preferences, and much more, and these scripts are called down from the server
based on the workgroup a computer is in.
There is one static file in the mysaNiTy program folder that you can
edit to add your own scripting to. This file
kix2.txt can be edited. It is the second of the five files. Do not edit
any of the others, they may be rewritten by mysaNiTy therefore you will loose
your additions to these files. Version 2.0+ comes
with a file called addons.txt and this file is located in the netlogon folder and is the last script
called by the user.txt logon script. Any additions to this file will always
overwrite any of mysaNiTy’s logon scripts settings. If you want mysaNiTy to do
additional things, you can modify the
addons.txt file in the netlogon folder to include your own scripting.
See ADDONS.TXT script examples at the
end of this document for script examples.
Note: mysaNiTy comes with Kixtart 3.47 and installs the kxrpc.exe (ver3.47). If you are already using Kixtart but a different version, the 3.47 version of the kxrpc.exe service will be installed on your server if the version is an older one. If you are using a later version, you will need to install the later version of the Kixtart® workstation files you are using on each workstation. You can place a copy of the later version of the Kixtart® files in c:\mysaNiTy\kwin9x for copying to each workstation or manually create the directory c:\kix and copy in the later version files. See configuring workstation later in this manual. |
