Configuring the Default Roaming Profile for all MysaNiTy User Accounts using
Windows NT Workstations.
Roaming
Profiles and MysaNiTy
After completing the ntwksta.exe
configuration you will need to configure a Default Roaming Profile
that all MysaNiTy user accounts will use. This will allow all MysaNiTy user
accounts the full benefits of MysaNiTy’s security and desktop management. The
following profile can be created on either NT workstation 4.0/2000
Professional and run on either.
1.
Logon as local
administrator at a Microsoft NT 4.0 workstation, run all programs that all
users will user and set and tool bars, desktop preferences, etc. the way you
want them to appear for all users the first time a user logs in and runs that
program. If using Outlook Express run
it also
2. Start->Run ->
regedt32.exe and select: HKEY_CURRENT_USER ->
3.
Highlight root key HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4.
Select Security
(menu bar) -> Permissions-> Add -> Global Group Domain Users
5. Select
Type of Access as Full Control, then click OK

6.
Click the Box: Replace
Permissions on Existing Subkeys -> OK-> YES

Copying administrator profile to the server for
use as a Default Roaming Profile.(ntuser.dat)
7.
When using a
Windows NT 4 Workstation to create the roaming profile , you need to logout and logon using the domain
administrator account to complete the following steps.
8. Right click My Computer . Then Choose Properties->
User Profiles
9.
Select local/administrator
profile if you are on a NT 4.0 workstation (Local = name of the local
workstation. DO NOT Use domain/administrator).
10.
Select Copy to. Copy profile to:
\\servername\aeprofile\profile.man
.
11.
Select Permitted to
Use -> Change. Add the group DOMAIN/Users
Click
OK. The local profile will now
be copied to the server.

12. Complete this step before generating any MysaNiTy accounts that
will use roaming profiles on a Windows NT/2000 Pro Workstation(R). If you
already have or have just added the first Windows NT Workstation(R) you can
later update all accounts with the new Default Roaming Profile outlined below.
a)
On your server go to the c:\mysaNiTy\aeprofile\profile.man folder.
b)
You should see the file ntuser.dat in this folder
See example
c:\mysaNiTy\aeprofile\profile.man\ntuser.dat
*** All newly generated MysaNiTy accounts will now get a copy the
Default User Profile (ntuser.dat) from C:\mysaNiTy\aeprofile\profile.man.
All user accounts generated will have ntuser.dat is copied to the
users ntprofile subfolder of the users home folder on the server. All
MysaNiTy accounts have a profile path statement that point to the users ntuser.dat
file in the users ntprofile subfolder of their home directory. *****
